The Historic Center & Q’oricancha Get ready for a fascinating journey starting at Cusco’s lively Plaza de Armas, where you’ll have the chance to explore the iconic Cathedral. From there, our adventure continues on foot along an ancient Inca-built street, leading us to the Q’oricancha, famously known as the Temple of the Sun. At the Q’oricancha, you’ll compare the architectural styles of the Incan culture and Catholicism. This site served as the central spiritual hub for the Incas, connecting all four quarters of their vast empire. Don’t miss the chance to marvel at the bronze high altar.
Sacsayhuaman Fortress Moving forward from Q’oricancha, we’ll stroll down Avenida El Sol before hopping on a bus for a 25-minute scenic drive outside the city. Our destination? The majestic Inca site of Sacsayhuaman. You’ll be regaled with insights from your private guide before having the freedom to explore the site at your own pace, surrounded by enigmatic 200-ton monoliths.
Q’enqo, Puca Pucara & Tambomachay Our adventure continues with a brief drive to the Q’enqo Inca site, home to captivating altars. Following this, we visit Puca Pucara, a charming circular fortress. The grand finale is Tambomachay, a water temple featuring impressive fountains believed to have been used by the Inca for bathing.
