Itinerary
- Your adventure begins early in the morning with pick-up from your hotel in Cusco between 4:00 and 4:30 AM. From there, we travel south through scenic Andean valleys and traditional highland villages, where the first light of day reveals agricultural fields, grazing animals, and dramatic mountain landscapes. Along the way, you will begin to appreciate the vastness and raw beauty of the Peruvian Andes.
- After approximately two hours on the road, we stop at a countryside restaurant to enjoy a nourishing local breakfast before continuing toward the ATV base camp. Upon arrival, professional staff provide a comprehensive safety briefing, instructions on how to properly handle the ATV, and all necessary protective equipment to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
- The adventure then begins as we ride across high-altitude terrain, following dirt trails surrounded by spectacular panoramic views of the Andes. The ATV journey lasts about one hour each way, offering an exciting yet accessible way to explore this remote region. Along the route, you will pass herds of alpacas and llamas grazing freely, vibrant red valleys, and mineral-rich mountains, all framed by impressive views of the Ausangate mountain range.
- After completing the ATV portion, a short hike of approximately 15 to 25 minutes leads to the main viewpoint of Vinicunca, situated at 5,036 meters (16,522 ft) above sea level. At the summit, you will have time to take breathtaking photographs, admire the vibrant natural stripes of the Mountain of Seven Colors, and fully appreciate the dramatic Andean landscape that stretches endlessly in every direction. Your guide will share insights into the geological formation of the mountain as well as the cultural and spiritual significance of the region.
